I guess this is a mutlifandom blog? I reblog things I like which include cosplay, games, anime, photography, art, music, horrible puns, politics, and more.

Sometimes NSFW.

what's going on here?

Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.

Long hair represents femininity and vulnerability and sex. It’s princesses and mermaids and porn stars. Short hair, on the other hand, says, “If you think I’m gorgeous, great, but this isn’t about you, pal.” Whoooo, scary! In an ABC interview when she was 15, Miley Cyrus showed off a photo of iconic British model Twiggy, all big eyes and choppy blond hair, and said, “One day I’m going to cut my hair like that. I know I am. I will.” So she did. But in a culture where a female doing something just for herself – not her fiancé, not her family, not her fans – is seen as transgressive, that’s enough to call her masculine and shocking and unstable. And that’s not just sad, that’s totally crazy.

So just to remind you: A young woman changing her look in a way that doesn’t scream, “Please, world, love me because I am a Victoria’s Secret model,” right now, in the year of our Lord 2012, freaks people out. It actually makes them wonder if she’s lost her mind.

She donated her hair to cancer patients too so its not a selfish act either.

People want to be so concerned on what Brown folks doing but never want to acknowledge the domestic terrorism in our own back yard. When they do, it’s just some ~poor boy~, ‘cause white people can never be acknowledged as America’s real boogeyman.

“You know why a Spider Lily is called the flower of separation? It’s because the leaves and the flowers can never meet. The flowers can only blossom when the leaves are all withered away. They miss one another to grow the sprout and bloom the flowers, but in the end they leave their yearning for each other and never unite. Isn’t it beautiful? Even in death, they seem to miss each other like lovers.” — The Bride of the Water God

I have the deepest affection for intellectual conversations. The ability to just sit and talk. About love, about life, about anything, about everything. To sit under the moon with all the time in the world, the full-speed train that is our lives slowing to a crawl. Bound by no obligations, barred by no human limitations. To speak without regret or fear of consequence. To talk for hours and about what’s really important in life.

(via pariswiwe)

It sounds so universal but it’s astounding how many people display little interest in this manner of speaking :(

Just too bad that I’m too stupid for most of these conversations, so I listen more than talk.

Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply.
